Peiting Chen, B.S.
Peiting is a Junior Specialist in the Kuo lab. His main interest is researching the genetic mechanisms underlying type 2 diabetes and pancreatic beta-cell dysfunction. Outside of the lab, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with friends.
Dennis To (Honors course)
Dennis is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. He has a strong interest in understanding the genetic components that heighten susceptibility and predispose individuals to diabetes. Aspiring to be a dentist, Dennis aims to delve deeper into the impact of diabetes on oral health, adopting a holistic approach that emphasizes systemic health as much as oral well-being. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new restaurants and sampling foods in Davis and its surrounding areas.
Ishan Talwar
Ishan is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology at UC Davis. He is interested in the molecular mechanisms underlying insulin resistance and beta-cell dysfunction in type 2 diabetes. In his free time, he enjoys baking various types of macarons and watching anime.
Renata Ramos
Renata is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior at UC Davis. She is interested in researching the genetic mechanisms underlying metabolic disorders. In her free time, she likes to spend quality time with family and friends, play video games, and travel.
Suahn Cho
Suahn is pursuing a BS in Neuroscience, Physiology, and Behavior, and a BA in Psychology. She is interested in the complex relationship between type 2 diabetes and endocrine system, including beta cell dysfunction. After school, she enjoys playing DnD with friends and drawing pictures.
